Skill level: This is a beginner-friendly kit, with clear instructions and pictures or diagrams for every step, so learners with zero embroidery experience can enjoy it. That said, traditional South Asian mirror embroidery can have a learning curve and calls for intermediate-level skills, so be patient with yourself as you learn.

You will make a sampler: a fabric where you practice stitches, then use it as a visual glossary to refer back to for future projects. If you'd like to make a finished hoop art, you can trace one of the suggested patterns onto your cloth after hooping it.

You’ll learn everything from hooping your fabric and threading your needle to stitching a secure foundation grid and framing a mirror with decorative stitching. No experience required.
