A series of storytelling and printmaking workshops for the newcomer community, focusing on our personal histories and experiences of arriving and settling in Canada. Participants will share their stories in their groups if they feel comfortable, then they will be guided in making scarves using shapes and colours that tell their stories. Unconventional printmaking tools and materials will be used so participants can feel confident to continue printmaking outside of the museum setting. No previous skills required.
Workshops: March 10, 17, 24 from 1-4pm. The workshops are not consecutive.
These workshops were funded by the Government of Ontario, and Myseum of Toronto; and these workshops were in partnership with the Textile Museum of Canada, Toronto Ward Museum, Paralia Newcomer Arts Network, and Myseum Intersections.
